Logitech has announced the availability of the case+ modular casing and its add-ons, for iPhone 5 and 5s in the U.S. The additional add-ons or fittings can be latched on to the base case as required.
The set consists of:
- case+: The base case that protects the phone. Has a big metal back plate which the other add-ons use, with the help of magnets, to latch on to. The rest of the case+ is made out of soft touch polycarbonate.
- +tilt: A mount that has 3 panels that folds into a neat stand, à la iPad’s Smart Cover, and it also becomes a cord keeper for ear buds. Magnetic panels will also allow for the phone to be attached to any metal surface, such as a fridge, giving you a hands-free option when needed. The +tilt in this set is the leather variant.
- +energy: A 2300mAh battery pack that can charge your iPhone 5s about 1.5 times.
- +drive: Has a suction cup on one end to affix it to the windscreen or any flat surfaces and a magnetic face on the other, for the case+.
- +wallet: Lets you carry your cards and cash. Has Logitech’s Magnashield technology that will protect cards from demagnetisation. It can also be used as a wallet on its own.
The set has already picked up the gold award at this year’s Edison Awards, under the Computer & Entertainment category, and looks set to become quite a hit with the public. The only problem could be the pricing but if the ‘sold out’ status on Logitech’s US site is any indication, money is not an object for iPhone owners.

The set has a retail price of US$199.99 but, as I mentioned earlier, it’s still out of stock. The good news is, interested parties could still place an order and Logitech will notify you once it’s available again.
